I didn't have a mobile for Asher until he was 6 months old and by then he wasn't really into it. When I found out I was pregnant with our third and started making a list of everything I needed a new mobile was at the top, so when Lamaze offered to send Scarlett the Freddie the Firefly Mobile I was excited! The first thing Asher wanted to do was open it and try it out (he is the reviewer until Scarlett is here). I made him wait until his daddy got home from work to put it together. When J got home from work and I handed it to him the first thing he said was "Wow this is really nice." As he sat down in the floor to put it together his little helper was already there assisting. J commented on how easy it was to put together and that he really like the size of it.
It is larger than your standard mobile measuring in at 17 x 14 x 3 inches. The wings flap just like a firefly engaging your baby all while helping strengthen you baby's eyes. I like the fact that the wings are reversible with one side black and white and the other side is color. When J put it together he put one black and white side and one color, so you are able to mix them up. There is a light on the tail that changes colors with the music and with one push of a button you can change between four songs. It was a breeze putting it on the crib as you just twist the back onto the bottom bar to secure it to the crib.
There are buttons on the top to control the sound of the music as well as a switch for 15 or 30 minute play modes. You can pick between two different light mode, so you are sure to find a combination your baby will love.
