Tokidoki Barbie-Whats the big deal

Since I have two boys I am not current on all things Barbie, but watching some of the local news this morning caught my attention when they were saying that people are all up in arms over the tattooed Barbie. I decided to look up the Barbie to see what all the fuss was about and to be honest I think the Barbie is pretty dang cool. If any of you know I am a tattoo loving rock n roll mama and if I had a little girl I would purchase this in a heart beat. I mean come on you think that original Barbie is the perfect role model for your kids? If Barbie was real her measurements would be 6 feet, weigh 100 lbs and wear a size 4. Her measurements would be 39'-19-33'! Yea that is sending the right message. At least they are promoting individuality and isn't all cookie cutter about it . I think that in this day and age where kids are afraid to gain an ounce or everyone having to be so politically correct individuality is something we should welcome with open arms. I live in Tennessee right dab middle in the "Bible Belt" and trust me after reading some of the comments people made on our local new's Facebook page we look like a bunch of close minded idiots. It's about time Barbie got a little edge to her!

  2. I honestly like that they made this! If it was cheaper I would buy one for myself.

  3. I don't know why people are so upset about it, if they don't like it, they don't have to purchase it for their kids.

  5. Hi, I am a new follower, saw you on Bloggy Moms:) I have a seven year old daughter all about Barbie and I've never seen this one. I personally think it looks pretty cool, and I think she'd love it. My fiance is pretty much covered in tattoos and we don't even see them when we look at him. I know some people make judgements but we are living in a world where body art is becoming more mainstream. I am not sure what all the controversy was about but I guess everyone has their opinions, right?
